Hello DLHA Families

I am so excited to join you this year in exploring the wonders of third grade! Together we will create, achieve, and exceed goals in many aspects of our school day. We will celebrate our strengths and continue to learn about the world around us. I can’t wait to get to know all the integral members of this outstanding class!

I graduated from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. This is my first year teaching at DLH and I could not be more excited! I can’t wait to see all of the amazing traits contributed by staff, students, and their families to make DLH a home away from home. In addition to learning and teaching, I love music and crafting. Live music and concerts are my happy place! Additionally, I love getting crafty with paper, canvas, paint, anything that can be made into something new and colorful! I love to be goofy and make the best of all situations. Oh, and I might have a huge love for donuts! Third grade was one of my favorite years in school! I am SO ready for this adventure!

Throughout the year students will be acquiring several new skills in all subjects. In math we will conquer multiplication and division, fractions, as well as analyzing the shape and area of two-dimensional shapes. In reading we will focus on main idea and supporting details, compare and contrast, fact and opinion, and cause and effect (to name a few). Students will expand on their writing skills in order to create and edit multi-paragraph papers. Students will become explorers of their own knowledge and set no limits on success.
I wholeheartedly believe that each and every student can and will succeed this year! We will work together to make the best of this year. All should be ready to be; inquirers, hard-workers, open minded, silly, and kind to one another!

I feel that open communication is essential to foster success! Please contact me anytime throughout the year with questions or concerns by email.

Sincerely,

Miss Kildahl
